About the course

Generative AI Foundations is the starting point for professionals who need to use, evaluate, and introduce LLMs in real work. You will learn how models generate text, how to design prompts that are reliable, how to spot failure modes, and how to choose the right model for a task. The course stays hands-on: every module ends with exercises you can reuse on the job.

Learning outcomes

• Explain how LLMs work at a practical level and when not to use them
• Write structured prompts for analysis, drafting, coding, and summarization
• Evaluate output quality, bias, and hallucination risk
• Compare major model families (GPT, Claude, Gemini, Llama) for a given task
• Produce a small workplace prototype with documented prompts and guardrails

Hands-on labs and projects

• Prompt library for a real job function (sales, support, or engineering)
• Document Q&A with citations — no RAG stack yet, just disciplined prompting
• Side-by-side model comparison on the same task
